what karting does is develop the driving instinct. it has saved me a few times when the car steps out in the wet or you hit a patch of sand or whatever you dont have to think about what to do you just do it. when you have experience bringing back a kart or car back into control on the track it just happens naturally if it happens on the street. yes they are very different in terms of limits, speeds, and handling but if you can control a kart that is capable of any sort of legit speed you can for sure control a car. i find dynamic control skills are useful in all sorts of things, from motorcycles, atvs, karting, driving, even snowboarding if you can learn to understand the limits of one activity and control it, the skill translates to other activities. yes a half marathon is very different from a 10k but if you can run a half marathon then a 10k should be basic, right?
